MARCUS SAULSBERRY TAKING BIG STEPS

If you don’t live or skate in Hollywood then you might not know Baker Skateboards own Marcus Saulsberry, but let me tell you this kid is coming up, he rips street spots, smokes, drinks, picks up girls, and then does it all over again the next day. Marcus is part of the notorious HHK “Hollywood High Krew”, if you’ve skated Hollywood High you may have been put in check if they don’t know who you are, or maybe you sat too close to one of their girlfriends or cell phones on the ledge…..catch my drift?? Marcus is one of the coolest cats I’ve ever met though, every time I see him he’s so hyped, throwing his hands in the air, down for anything, asking “Adam, where’s the Asian girls!!” On our 4 day tour last year I don’t think he stopped laughing the whole time until he passed out. Marcus also skates for Emerica, and recently quit Active. I asked him why he quit…..He told me on the phone “All my homies were gone so I said F*@K that S@$T.” It may not look like it but Marcus fits in with the Veece Vandals, but he fit’s like a surgeons glove. PATRICK MELCHER NOT CHEATING “DEATH”.

 

Death skateboards that is. I haven’t had a chance to check out the whole video yet. Maybe if he ever comes back from NYC he’ll give me one (ever since him and I went about 3 months ago he’s been back about 4 times, yes NYC is that COOL) but you can guarantee that Richie Jackson and that Zarosh guy are definite standouts in the full length Death video “Better Than Life”. So step away from the “Fully Flared” for a minute (yes it is one of the best video’s ever made) and check out some serious skateboarding. I have seen Patrick’s part and it is amazing….check the wall ride blunt slide, yes kids I know the Hurricane down the Wilshire 15 is the gnarliest but it’s the creative/gnarly that counts these days. “PIRATE LOVE” GARETH STEHR

Gareth Stehr is back in action after a dueling with a car in Santa Monica, CA, (yeah the car usually wins) and this man is ripping harder than ever. I’ve seen some footage and it’s definitely top notch. He has recently moved his Pirate life into a new place over in the beautiful City Of Angels with his awesome girlfriend Krystal, I’ve run into her a couple times on her breaks from cutting hair at Fred Segal Santa Monica.

Gareth has really been getting into his art as well; here is the new “Otter Pop” series of Foundation boards just released and in stores now.
